Vita VM13 Opaque Powder is a highly-esthetic, fine-structure feldspar ceramic designed for full veneering of metal frameworks in the conventional CTE range, perfectly adapted to the CTE value of conventional bonding alloys (approximately 13.8–15.2 µm/mK) — regardless of whether the alloys are cast, milled, or sintered. As the foundational masking layer within the VM13 system, Opaque Powder is applied directly to the metal framework to block out its colour before subsequent dentine and enamel layers are built up.

The firing temperature (880°C, dentine firing) provides enormous processing reliability, particularly for alloys with a low solidus temperature (<1100°C). Its main components are pure-grade potash and albite feldspar materials, offering brilliant shade effects along with unbeatable flexural strength. Thanks to its homogeneous, compact surface, VM13 Opaque Powder supports outstanding grinding and polishing, particularly in situ, resulting in smooth, densely compact surfaces. This also significantly reduces plaque accumulation on the ceramic surface, supporting patients in caring for their high-quality restoration.

As a high-quality system component within the innovative Vita VM concept, VM13 Opaque Powder offers a universal solution for all common indications — metal-ceramics, all-ceramics, or composite, the possibilities are extensive. Vita Akzent Plus and Vita Interno stains are also available for individual finalization.
