Description
Ortho Wire by Scheu offers high-quality, diamond-drawn and high-gloss polished coil wires designed for orthodontic applications, available in two material options — Chromium and Menzanium — to suit different clinical and laboratory needs.
The Chromium version is made from chrome nickel steel (DIN material no. 1.4310), available in hard (1400–1600 N/mm²) and spring hard (1800–2000 N/mm²) variants. Suitable for joining techniques such as laser-welding and welding, it meets measurement, tolerance, and quality standards in accordance with DIN EN ISO 15841.
The Menzanium version is a nickel-free* stainless steel alloy, fabricated using a patented high-pressure melting process that replaces allergenic nickel components with manganese and nitrogen. Compared to conventional stainless steel wires, Menzanium offers increased corrosion resistance and breaking strength, and is also available in hard (1400–1600 N/mm²) and spring hard (1800–2000 N/mm²) versions. Like the Chromium range, Menzanium coil wires are diamond-drawn, high-gloss polished, and suitable for laser-welding and welding techniques, meeting DIN EN ISO 15841 standards.
Both wire types are available in laboratory coils (10–50m wire length) and clinical coils (Chromium: 26–324m; Menzanium: 58–330m, both supplied as 500g coils), offering flexibility for a range of orthodontic laboratory and clinical applications.
*Nickel trace elements of 0–0.2% are procedurally possible in Menzanium wire.
